The woods of Arkansas is not an unusual place to find rusting hulks to American iron - but only a precious few are powered by fuel injected V8s and offered just a few dollars above scrap value.
In 1955 Ford had a remarkably successful year with their mid-sized sedan, selling a whopping 472,000 of the Customline models. For a point of reference, the population of the USA has doubled since 1955, but last year Ford only sold 271,000 examples of its Fusion sedan. Find this !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! for sale in Prairie Grove, AR for $2,500 via craigslist. Tip from Mikus.
You won't find the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! driving around in a '55 Ford (or a new Fusion) but you can actually afford this one! In 1955 a new Customline would have cost something around $1800 plus options which adjusted for inflation is around $15k - a bit less than the $22k starting MSRP for a brand new 2014 Fusion. However, today's '55 Ford is being offered for $2500 in today's money, or adjusted to 1955 as $295 - the approximate cost to add power brakes, power steering, power seats, and seat belts when new.

The original inline-6 (or optional V8) has been tossed aside for a modern (can a 25 year old engine be considered modern?) fuel injected V8 from a Mustang/T-bird/MkVII. The foxy 5.0 should put out something above 200 horsepower SAE net - which will be a much appreciated upgrade over the 115 hp SAE gross (expect ~ 75 hp SAE net) rated original inline-6. The transmission is described by the seller as a 4-speed with overdrive and is probably the 4AOD slushbox that came mated to all sorts of Ford product in the 80s/90s.
When you see a picture of a car with faded paint sitting in the woods you are correct to be suspicious of the condition...but the chrome and stainless tell a totally different story. That chrome looks perfect in these pictures but it does look like some rust is peeking up from under the paint.

Green Day is hardly a punk band let alone my favorite one.

Thank you!
I like Green Day. Billie Joe is, by all accounts, a solid guy. I also grew up in LA and was part of the early 80s punk scene there. You're right, GD is not "punk," at least not since the early 90's when they played the clubs in the East Bay.

Looks to have the upper intake from the standard output version.....150-165 HP depending on application/exhaust. Easy enough to upgrade..... I don't see any MAF sensor in the intake line so I'm guessing it's speed density as well.
